Zabb PuTawn

Welcome to Zabb PuTawn, a hidden gem in the heart of New York City, specializing in authentic Northern and Northeastern Thai cuisine. This cozy restaurant offers a wide array of dishes that will tantalize your taste buds and transport you to the streets of Bangkok. From traditional favorites like Gaeng Hunglay Ribs and Pad Thai to unique delicacies like Larb Moo and Som Tum Thai, Zabb PuTawn is a culinary delight for those seeking an authentic Thai dining experience.

What sets Zabb PuTawn apart is its commitment to preserving the authenticity of Thai flavors while offering a diverse menu that caters to all palates. The menu boasts a plethora of options, from spicy Isan soups to flavorful curry dishes, each prepared with care and precision by the talented chefs.

One standout dish is the Gaeng Hunglay Ribs, a Northern style stew with tender ribs cooked in a flavorful curry that will leave you wanting more. The Tom Zabb Teen Gai, a spicy Isan Chicken Feet Soup, is a unique and comforting dish that is perfect for those looking to explore bold flavors.

But it's not just the main dishes that shine at Zabb PuTawn. The restaurant excels in starters like the Curry Puff and Crispy Chive Cake, as well as desserts like Mango Sticky Rice that provide the perfect sweet ending to your meal.

My personal favorite is the Som Tum Pu Plara Lao, a traditional Papaya Salad that captures the essence of Isan cuisine with its bold and tangy flavors. Paired with sticky rice and a side of grilled pork neck, it's a meal that will transport you to the streets of Thailand.

Overall, Zabb PuTawn is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Thai flavors in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Imagine a thai girl in NYC coming home from the tiring corporate world and looking for Som Tum Pu Plara + Sticky Rice, and Pork jowl grilled for dinner.... THIS IS WHERE I GO! Oh my lord I was lucky enough to have Zabb Putawn next to my house that I could order Som Tum and many more thai food just like when I was back in Bangkok! I love this place so much I don't want to move out of Yorkville because of it lol you'll find the kindest server that would treat you like a family and the ambiance is amazing!

Came here for dinner as it was super close to the place we were staying at. Starting with appetizers, the ribs and the Thai iced tea were both super tasty! I ordered the Curry chicken noodle dish, while my partner ordered their salmon with rice. Both dishes were super tasty. They seemed to be a bit understaffed, but their staff were all super friendly! I would say the ambience of this place is super homey and casual, would recommend coming here to grab a quick lunch or dinner with your friends.

My parents moved to the area a year ago, and I've always walked past this place on the way to their apartment. I finally got to try it yesterday with some friends, and it was absolutely amazing! My friends and I went in at 1pm, when the restaurant was empty (it gets more busy at night). I was craving pad see ew, so I got that with tofu. It was perfectly seasoned, and the tofu was the perfect mix of soft and crispy. I also got Thai iced tea, which you can never go wrong with. Our waiter was a sweetheart and was very attentive. Overall, I'm happy I finally got to pop in here. Great food, great service and a relaxing atmosphere!

Best Thai in the UES. The chef of this restaurant worked at a Michelin-star (2015) establishment in Jackson Heights. It's original location in UES just rebranded to Zabb Putawn. I didn't know this until I saw it posted on the wall. Ambiance (5/5): The establishment is pretty snug but there was plenty of choices for dine-in on a Friday night. Service (5/5): The server was friendly and checked on us often. There's a 10% discount if you pay in cash! Food: The food was extremely affordable! But i think their online vs in-person menu is slightly off (more expensive now) Panang Curry (5/5): The chicken was tender and broth had loads of flavor!! Kow Mun Gai: My friend had this and it reminds me of Hainanese chicken rice. The taste was identical. The chicken pieces were tender but overall expected for the type of flavoring.
